African leaders urged to promote peace

Dr Richard Shakarian, International President of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International (FGBMFI) has called on African leaders to ensure peace on the Continent.

He said the situation where some African countries were at each other’s throat did not augur well for the unity and stability of the Continent.

Dr Shakatrian made the call at the opening of this year’s conference of the Fellowship in Accra at the weekend.

Ghana, Togo, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Senegal, Benin, Cameroun, Algeria, The United States of America and Mexico are attending the three-day conference which is on the theme “Arise and Build”.

Dr Shakarian praised Dr Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first President for the leadership role he played in the struggle for Africa’s liberation.

Mr George Yaw Prah, National President of FGBMFI, said the conference was being held at the time Ghana was celebrating her 58t h Independence Anniversary,

He noted that without unit y and peace the desire of Africans for development and advancement would be a mirage.

The National President urged Christians to strive and contribute their quota towards nation-building.
