Agona East NDC wards chairpersons support Martin Obeng for DCE post

Agona Nsaba (C/R), March 3, GNA - Eight Ward Chairmen of the Agona East Constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have endorsed Mr. Martin Luther Obeng for the position of District Chief Executive (DCE) for Agona East. They also appealed to President John Atta Mills to consider Mr. Obeng for the position to ensure the growth and stability of the party in the area.

In a statement signed by the ward chairmen, they stated that the appointment of Mr. Obeng would help the NDC to win in the constituency in the 2012 general election. The ward chairmen from Agona Asafo, Mr. Nash Wellington; Agona Nsaba, Mr. Ebo Wilson; Middle East, Mr. Kwame Essel; Duakwa, Mr. Salisu Mohammed; Mankrong, Mr. Simon Kobina Tetteh; Agona Kwanyako, Mr. Solomon Kwofie; Fawomanye, Mr. Timothy Tawiah and Mekong-Junction, Mr. Amos Kwesi Dawson.

They pointed out that Mr. Obeng, who is a lecturer at the Takoradi Polytechnic, gave his two cars out for the campaign for the last elections and took part in the house-to-house campaign.

They said that, "As elders and ward Chairmen, we will not sit down to see the suffering of this young man who led the success of our party to go to waste when he is qualified for the position." "For the sake of our party, the youth, district and the nation, we are of the view that Mr. Martin Obeng is the best man for the job". They appealed to the vetting committee mandated to select a candidate for the position to seriously consider him.
