Parliament's Privileges Committee is expected to determine the fate of Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, today, Monday, 23 July 2018.
The committee tasked to investigate and report to parliament whether the lawmaker is in contempt of the house, had its hearing botched on the first day of sitting in June, after lawyers for the maverick MP raised procedural issues with the composition of the committee.
Three members of the committee recused themselves forcing an adjournment.
Mr Agyapong was hauled before the committee after Minority Chief Whip, Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak, argued on the floor that utterances by the outspoken MP had brought the name of the House into disrepute.
Mr Agyapong is alleged to have maligned the Majority leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu on an Accra-based radio station.
The Privileges Committee has been reconstituted to delve further into the matter when it sits today.
