The Founder of Perez Chapel International (PCI) Bishop Charles Agyinasare has condemned the ongoing xenophobic attacks on black Africans living in South Africa by black South Africans.
Bishop Agyinasare told his congregation on Sunday April 19, 2015 that the attacks must be condemned in no uncertain terms.
The irate black South Africans launched the xenophobic onslaught a week ago against fellow black Africans, who they accuse of taking their jobs and invading their country with crimes.
A Ghanaian male was found dead on the streets of Durban, with head injuries, during the height of the attacks. He is suspected to have been a victim of the vicious attacks.
Four other Ghanaians: a man, two women and a baby were also found dead at Hebron in Free State province. They were hiding in a salon. All the bodies were foaming at the mouth when found. It is unclear if their death has anything to do with xenophobic attacks.
A group in Ghana has urged a boycott of all South African investments and firms to mount pressure on the Government of South Africa to stop the attacks.
Security has been heightened at the South African High Commission in Ghana to prevent any reprisal attacks. The High Commissioner is billed to address journalists at a press conference Monday over the matter.
The African Union, led by current Chairman, President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe has condemned the attacks. The Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS) done same.
At his sermon on Sunday, Bishop Agyinasare said he was standing on behalf of his Church to denounce the attacks.
