Accra, May 28, GNA - Maulvi Wahab Adam, Ameer and Missionary In-Charge, Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, on Sunday described as incorrect the notion that Islam was a violent religion.
Addressing a forum to commemorate the life of the Holy Prophet of Islam, Maulvi Adam said contrary to the often repeated allegation that Islam was intolerant of other religions, the Holy Prophet of Islam had affirmed the truth of all the Prophets of God and made the belief of all the Founders of religions an integral part of the faith of Muslims. He said history bears testimony to the fact that the Holy Prophet of Islam possessed excellent moral qualities and defended the rights, not only of humans but those of animals as well.
"The Holy Prophet stand against injustice, immorality, conflicts, gambling and alcoholism as well as divisive tendencies and in the process bring total transformation to the world," Maulvi Adam said. According to him, there was total agreement on all hands that the Holy Prophet of Islam was one person that had exerted the most positive influence on world civilisation because of the material, moral and spiritual transformation that he brought to the world. Maulvi Adam therefore, urged Muslims to be agents of peace, saying that the best tribute one could pay to the Holy Prophet of Islam is to promote harmonious relations with adherents of all faiths and make useful contributions to the unity, peace, development and progress of society.
