The Managing Director during her presentation thus challenged the girls to unburden their minds of the stereotypical image people clothe women with and rather challenge the status quo.

“Look beyond your gender and identify your talents which are unique to each person in order to grow their potential”. It added.

Ms Estelle Akofio Sowah, Country Director for Google Ghana, appealed to the students to strive hard to achieve their goals.

This year’s theme for the International Women’s Day is “Equality for women is progress for all”. This emphasizes how gender equality and empowerment of women are essential to economic and social development. It also stresses the vital role of women as agents of development.
