The last two days (Monday, Sept., 24, and Tuesday, Sept., 25, 2018) have been very frustrating for hundreds of AirtelTigo mainly in Accra who could not make calls, top up credit or use data bundles.

Following the development, hundreds of livid AirtelTigo subscribers yesterday stormed various Accra offices of the company to have their problems addressed.

The situation, Today discovered, created chaos, besides very long and winding queues at many of the AirtelTigo offices in the national capital.

The queues were long that some extended outside the offices of the company as some of the customers had to bear the brunt of the scorching sun.

Probing into the matter, the paper learnt that the problem was as a result of network failure, which situation left many subscribers in the dark.

At the Lapaz AirtelTigo office, many of the subscribers who were very livid hurled barrage of insults on the staff, lashing out at them for what they described as “poor customer service.”

Some did not hide their intention to join other networks.

“We will move to more reliably and efficient networks,” some of the aggrieved subscribers at the Lapaz office of AirtelTigo angrily voiced out.

Others could not fathom why the telecommunication company could not even send them text messages to inform them of any technical challenges/hitches.

According to them, the situation was bad to the extent that they are unable to access the internet and also use the mobile money service.

For Tigo customers in particular, when a different network calls them, the response they get is: The AirtelTigo line is switched off.”

The situation was not different at the AirtelTigo office at the Nima Junction.

Here, our reported spotted a very long queue with many others standing outside the office.

Some customers who had already been attended to with new sim cards told our reporter that they did not even know when their sims would be operational.

“When we reported our problems we were only given new sims and told that we will receive calls from the company,” some of the customers told Today.
