The Akuapem North Municipal Assembly says it has lodged a formal complaint at the Ghana Police Service in the Eastern region against Ernab Ventures, an estate company operating in Akropong.
In a strongly worded statement, the assembly said it would take legal action against Ernab Ventures for using its name to dupe unsuspecting residents and property owners in Akropong.
Ernab Ventures is allegedly owned by one Gyata – a known Land Guard who has been terrorizing residents of Akropong recently.
Ernab Ventures recently announced that it was collaborating with the Physical Planning Department of the Akuapem North Assembly to design a well-structured scheme to cover portions of Mpaniase, Kyekrotia, Adenim, Aban Ase, Kokoase, Abiriw Market and Daakye and thereby requested all property owners to show proof of ownership or lose their lands.
But the Assembly has since described the claims by Ernab Ventures as ‘completely false’ and ‘unfounded’ and therefore urged members of the public to treat the notice with outright contempt.
The activities of Ernab Ventures, according to report, are sponsored by the Krontihene of Akropong and some business men.
The Krontihene is alleged to have transferred ownership of some lands belonging to the royal family to Gyata and his team of marauding hooligans, who terrorize nonconformists through blatant intimidation.
