More than 500 newly admitted Senior High School (SHS) students from the Akuapem South Constituency in the Eastern Region have received financial assistance from the area’s Member of Parliament (MP), Lawrencia Adwoa Dziwornu.

The beneficiaries received the support through the Adwoa Educational Fund, established by the MP to address educational challenges in the constituency.

Madam Dziwornu made a cash donation of GH¢500 each to the over 500 beneficiaries on Friday, October 17, and Monday, October 20, 2025, at her office in Aburi.

Through this gesture, many parents and guardians—especially those facing financial hardship—have found relief from the burden of raising funds for educational materials as their wards prepared to leave for school over the weekend and this week, as directed by the Ghana Education Service (GES).

According to the MP, the initiative fulfills a campaign promise she made prior to her election in 2024, aimed at ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder access to quality education.

“The Adwoa Educational Fund provided financial assistance to over 500 students. This gesture is another fulfillment of that promise,” she stated.

The lawmaker reiterated her commitment to improving education in Akuapem South, describing it as one of her top priorities.

“The constituency has several educational challenges, but with God, bold solutions shall be given to each and every one of them,” she affirmed.

Madam Dziwornu emphasized that the Fund is designed to support every child without discrimination, helping them become responsible leaders in the future.

“The journey of tomorrow begins now. The Fund is set up to create opportunities, alleviate poverty, and set a path of hope and purpose to transform lives within the constituency.

"…to succeed, to become breadwinners, influential people, and great leaders for mother Ghana,” she expressed.

In heartfelt appreciation, the beneficiaries, their parents, guardians, and even non-beneficiary residents thanked the MP for her consistent humanitarian efforts and generosity toward the constituents.

They expressed overwhelming joy at the development, noting that what was once a campaign promise has now become a tangible reality the first of its kind in Akuapem South.
