Akufo-Addo/Danquah Institute Man Threatens Editor’s Life

A character within a group of desperados surrounding New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Mr. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is threatening the life of Mr. Mike Dokosi, Editor of Daily Post newspaper.

The character, who responds to the name Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofe Jr., is calling for the elimination of the life of the editor for having the guts to openly dare the NPP flagbearer on drugs. He has also once more clearly demonstrated his ilk’s morbid hatred for the Ewe ethnic group by insulting Ewes as being Togolese refugees who are less intelligent than the rest of them “bona fide human Ghanaian citizens.”

Kwame Okoampa-Ahoofee Jr., who is also a governing board member of the Danquah Institute, issued the death threat on the editor in an inflammable anti-Ewe article posted on ghanaweb on 8th August 2011.

In his nation wrecking article, the Danquah Institute guru demanded that Mr Mike Dokosi answered a call by one Ms Assiam to prove the drug allegations against the NPP flagbearer or get ready to be killed by Akufo-Addo goons.

Hear him: “... And Mr. “Trokosi” Dokosi had better take up the challenge of Ms. Assiam, by providing whatever evidence he has linking Nana Akufo-Addo to drugs, or end up putting his own personal security at risk. For there are limits to what Akufo-Addo partisans are willing to tolerate in the name of protected speech.”

Daily Post in a series of recent publications alleged that Nana Akufo-Addo was arrested at the John F. Kennedy Airport in the United States of America in 2007 with a small quantity of marijuana (wee) but was let go when he pleaded that the drug was for his personal use but this was not before the Kufuor-led NPP government refused to withdraw the then foreign minister’s immunity. The paper and its editor also alleged that the second-time NPP flagbearer smokes wee, a specific allegation which is yet to elicit a response from his lawyers. In an initial reaction to the published drug allegation against the NPP flagbearer by Daily Post, Mr Asante Bediatuo, legal counsel to Nana Akufo-Addo, in an exclusive interview published in the New Crusading Guide newspaper, was one of a decision to head for the courts to clear the name of his high profile client.

Mr. Asante Bediatuo, just like all NPP communicators, later changed from his initial position to throwing a challenge to Mr Mike Dokosi to rather prove his allegation since the onus of proof lies on the shoulders of the accuser. Mr. Dokosi has dared Nana Akufo-Addo and his counsel to proceed to court and he will meet them with his evidence.

It is baffling why the NPP and its flagbearer are finding it difficult to sue Mr Dokosi whilst misguided elements like Kwame Okuampa-Ahoofe are threatening his life with sheer bravado by inciting the ‘yen Akan fuo’ group within the opposition party to wreck havoc on the editor and eliminate him whilst insulting Ewes by referring to them as akpeteshie-drinking number-nine Togolese refugees and less intelligent human species.

“Then again, who decides the hallmarks of a presidential candidate? An insolent Akpeteshie-stinking number-nine refugee like Mr. “Trokosi” Dokosi, or the Fourth-Republican Constitution of Ghana (minus the Indemnity Clause, of course)? It goes without saying that there are Ewes of enviable repute and diligence, like the rest of us bona fide human Ghanaian citizens; and then there are all those other mutants like Mr. “Trokosi” Dokosi. Interestingly, though, almost all of these well-meaning Ghanaians belong to the New Patriotic Party (NPP),” Okuampa-Ahoofe stated. Emphasis ours.

The apology of a Ph.D., who flaunts his credentials as an Associate Professor of English, Journalism and Creative Writing at Nassau Community College of the State University of New York, Garden City in the United States of America, in his article entitled ‘Michael “Trokosi” Dokosi Is a Togolese Ewe…’ stated in his usual intemperate language:

“At the risk of sounding parochially ethnocentric, and even crassly anti-Ewe, I still feel compelled to observe this glaringly and brazenly pathological “NDC-Ewe Obsession” with the character and personality of the Presidential Candidate of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Actually, it is not just an obsession with the character and personality of Ghana’s former Justice Minister, but a seemingly incurable NDC-Ewe penchant for the abject distortion and assassination of the personhood and personality of the brilliant architect of the Repeal of the Criminal Libel Code, which has enabled the latest craze in this Ewe pathology, personified by the poor excuse of a man whose last- or surname sounds more like an exiled, disoriented Togolese political refugee in search of his bearings and presence of mind, than a bona fide Ghanaian-born Ewe native.”

By his shallow behaviour, the Akufo-Addo campaign dog has reinforced the fact that to say that the ‘Yen Akan fuo’ group within the NPP, who have imbibed their flagbearer’s all die be die campaign philosophy, have no respect for the Ewe ethnic group is an understatement.

It also underscores the fact that the NPP flagbearer and his clique will stop at nothing in their unbridled quest to capture political power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2012 general elections including taking the life of journalists and recklessly insulting a whole ethnic group as being less human. For them, “all die be die.”
