Joy FM Insiders Reveal

Credible sources within Joy FM have hinted that, the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Mr. Williams Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo, aka “all die be die”, was the brain behind the termination of Kwabena Bobbie Ansah’s appointment by Asempa FM.

Pleading anonymity for obvious reasons, this paper’s reliable sources in exclusive telephone conversation said, the NPP presidential candidate, through some of his agents (names withheld for now) have persistently mounted an intense pressure on the authorities at Multimedia to have Bobbie fired, so he could elude the continuous scrutiny of his personality by his political opponents and the general public, on the Ekoo Sii Sen show.

According to the insiders, these Akufo-Addo agents in their failure to get Bobbie skewed his show in favour of their flagbearer, like Kojo Oppong Nkrumah does, decided, therefore, to get him out since he was fast becoming a threat to their dream of recapturing power.

“With his principled stance, Bobbie became a target to the NPP cartel led by Ekyi Quarm, so we were not surprised that he has finally been given the marching out orders”. They added.

“My brother, we knew Bobbie was going to be sacked and was not shocked that having escaped many of the traps set for him by Ekyi Quarm and his NPP allies at the Multimedia, the NPP finally decided to attack the station that day, to create the rather erroneous impression that Bobbie was against them, when indeed, he was only working in conformity with the guiding principles of the journalism practice”, the sources indicated

“At least, I was privy to a meeting that took place between some management members and agents of Nana Addo to get Bobbie fired so that their leader will be free from the intense public condemnation that has come his way as a result of his “all die be die” comments, and most particularly, the revelations by the Wikileaks, which persistently have featured on Ekoo Sii Sen”, one of the source told The Informer. “Why was Bobbie not told the reason for his dismissal, if indeed management, especially Ekyi Quarm was not in to please Nana Addo and the NPP”, he queried, and said, the decision by management to show Bobbie the exit based on the recent misconduct of Anthony Karbo and his gang, was nothing but to fast-track the ploy to once cede the Ekoo Sii Sen show to the NPP like the rest of the programmes at Joy FM.

“In fact, some of us are on our way out since we cannot compromise our cherished values in the interest of the NPP; and we don’t care if we go hungry”, these angry insiders pointed out.

“We will leave for Kwesi Twum and his NPP cabal to do whatever they want in the bid to get Nana Addo and the NPP to power; but the fact still remains; and is that, Ghanaians are not prepared to entrust the destiny of this nation into the hands of the NPP with Akufo-Addo as the leader, so they better think twice”, they conclude.

However, traitorous John Boadu, the Deputy Director of Communication of the NPP, during an interview with OK FM, an Accra-based radio has confirmed that Akufo-Addo has a hand in the dismissal of Bobbie Ansah.

Speaking on the said radio station, John Boadu indicated that if “Bobie is bitter as a result of his dismissal without reason, then he should imagine how Akufo Addo feels when he (Bobbie) deals with topics that are not palatable to him”.

It would be recalled that on Wednesday, 22nd February, the late-afternoon political talk show, Ekoo Sii Sen, on Asempa FM nearly resulted in a fisticuffs, when scores of NPP sympathizers besieged the station’s premises at Kokomlemle on the Faanofa Road, in protest against what they perceived to be bias on the part of Bobbie Ansah, against a member of the NPP communication team, Hopeson Adorye, when he (Bobbie) walked him out from the show for using some unprintable words against the President.
