Saturday, July 17, 2010:- Mrs. Agnes Okudzeto, immediate past vice Chairperson of the NPP, has declared that “amongst the five aspirants contesting the August 7 nomination of the party, “Akufo-Addo is the one who stands tall. Amongst the five, there’s none like Akufo-Addo” were her exact comments as she addressed NPP delegates of the Anlo Constituency in Angloga at the old market square on Friday, July 16, 2010.

“Everywhere you go, the language is ‘no Nana no Vote’ and I believe that these comments are borne out of the immense confidence that the Ghanaian people have in Nana Akufo-Addo’s ability to come and salvage us from the suffering and deprivation that the NDC are imposing on all of us and restore hope and confidence in the Ghanaian and the Ghanaian economy,” she said.

“I have worked closely with our party over the years and I know what is best for the NPP and our country and I stand before you today to declare that Nana Akufo-Addo is the best amongst the five aspirants to lead both the party and Ghana to victory in 2012”, she remarked.

She observed that “Nana Akufo-Addo has over the years demonstrated enough commitment, loyalty and sacrifice to the cause of our great party. He was the first National Organiser of the party, one of those who dedicated all their time, intellect and resource to the building of our party. When he served as Attorney General and Foreign Affairs Minister, he conducted himself well. He has since not been found guilty of any wrong doing and has been named as one of the best ministers who served under the Kufuor led NPP administration.”

Mrs. Okudzeto noted that “given the rate at which President Mills and the NDC are failing to provide the impetus and dynamism that will help move Ghana on to the next level of development, I believe that Nana Akufo-Addo is the one who has the necessary experience and resolve to move Ghana forward.”

“Fellow delegates, when the going got tough, Nana Akufo-Addo is the only one who stood firm for you to have voting rights. Some of the other aspirants who have come to you today seeking for your votes were very much against the party giving you the right to vote for our presidential candidate. On August 7, remember the fact that the one who helped you to get the power is the one who will work with you when he becomes flag bearer and that is Nana Akufo-Addo,” she noted.

She spoke at length about the incorruptible nature of Nana Akufo-Addo and concluded that Nana Akufo-Addo is the one who can take those bold and visionary decisions that can help bring back hope to the Ghanaian people.

“On August 7, vote for the man who can get us the power in 2012. The man who got 49.77 on his first attempt, a man well marketed that all the children across the length and breadth of our country know his name. He is Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo” she concluded.

On his part Nana Akufo-Addo thanked the delegates for coming to meet him and listen to his message of hope. He spoke extensively about his belief in the “capacity of the party’s grassroots to help the party win the votes of the great majority of the Ghanaian people in 2012.”

He made a promise to polling station executives that as presidential candidate, he will bring to them directly whatever resources they require to do their work to ensure that victory comes the party’s way in 2012.

“If you are strong, our party is strong and if you give me the nod of leading the party again, I promise you that whatever resources you require to do your work, money, logistics, paraphernalia, I am going to bring them directly to you to strengthen your capacity and ensure that victory comes our way in 2012”, he remarked.
