The 2016 Flagbearer of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has urged members and leaders of the party to sink their energy and commitment into efforts towards winning the forthcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.
“We must translate the hard work, the passion of the internal battles to the 2016 Parliamentary and Presidential elections,” Akufo-Addo said at a thanksgiving service in Accra.
“I promise I’ll provide the leadership,” he assured party members, adding: “I’ll listen and I’ll work hard.”
The former Attorney General urged the rank and file of the party to “agree to work with each other.”
“Let us believe the fundamental truth that we are all working for the same goal to win the elections and put the NPP administration in place to govern this country,” he emphasised.
Akufo-Addo is having a third go at the presidency after two failures in 2008 and 2012. He is going into the 2016 race with the same Running mate (Dr Mahamudu Bawumia) he chose as partner in the last two unsuccessful campaigns.
