Speaking to the international media after the meeting, the Security Council President noted that despite the clamour of event in other regions of the world, it is appropriate that, with Ghana in the Chair the Security Council devotes at least one session to an examination of the situation in West Africa, using the lessons of Ghana’s experience and all the peacekeeping tools available to meet existing as well as emerging challenges.
