The Minister of Roads and Highways, Francis Asenso-Boakye, has announced the construction of more roads across the country, following the assent of the National Roads Authority Bill.
According to him, this will ease traffic flow during peak hours across the region.
Speaking at the commissioning of the Ashaley Botwe School Junction to Tema Motorway Road on August 26, 2024, he said, “My ministry has a program to construct overpasses subsequently; this will further ease the flow of traffic during peak hours. Furthermore, approval has been secured for an additional 1.8 kilometers of the engineer’s section of the Kwabenya Agbogba Road, which will commence soon."
“I am also pleased to inform you that the President of the Republic has assented to the National Roads Authority Bill; this marks a new chapter in our journey to deliver world-class infrastructure across the country.”
Akufo-Addo commissioned the School Junction to Borteyman Road project on August 26, 2024.
This is part of the Accra-Tema Motorway Expansion Project initiative, the first Public Private Partnership (PPP) in Ghana’s road infrastructure.
