The General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress(NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has said the New Patriotic Party’s Flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo is delusional about the overwhelming support he perceives to be getting from the traditional authorities in the latter’s campaign across the country.

Speaking in an interview with Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM Mr. Asiedu Nketiah said it’s a shame a number of the chiefs Nana Addo called on recently on his campaign trail have come out to issue disclaimer in relation to the supposed endorsement coming from them.

“The Brong Ahafo tour he made for instance, most of the chiefs who reports came that they’ve endorsed him later came and said they never declared their support for Nana Addo. He’s only deceiving himself” Mr. Asiedu Nketiah popularly known as General Mosquito said.

His comment comes after the Adontehene of Peki Traditional area Togbe Ayim Mordey VI, Wednesday disassociated the Traditional Council from the ‘misconduct’ of some chiefs in the area who declared support for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer Nana Addo during his recent tour of the Volta region.

Addressing the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah and his entourage during his 4-day tour of the Volta Region which he begun Wednesday, Togbe Ayim Mordey VI, stated that the Traditional Council has instituted disciplinary actions against those individuals and they will be sanctioned accordingly.

“Infact I want to take this opportunity to let people understand that, that was never done, the individual involved in this occasion is going to be called and sanctioned for the miscduct, so I want t make you understand that there was no such endorsement by Peki Chiefs.”

But the NPP said it still remains positive about the votes target in both the Presidential and parliamentary elections following what some political watchers described as an impressive reception for the party’s Presidential candidate in the volta region.

The party’s Regional Chairman, John Peter Amewu said they are no longer targeting just three seats and 30% of the Presidential votes, instead they are looking to win five parliamentary seats and split equally the Presidential votes.
