The CEO of Middle Belt Development Authority Joe Danquah has said President Akufo-Addo's commitment of the one million dollars per constituency is to ensure that development in the various constituencies are done speedily.

He said this when he met with MMDCES in Eastern, Ashanti, Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo Regions separately between 15 November to 29th November in Koforidua, Kumasi, and Sunyani respectively as part of the Consultative workshop on $1million per constituency projects.

The workshop was to allow the MMDCES to acquaint themselves with the operational mandate, strategic objectives and core functions of the Middle Belt Development Authority.

They went further to discuss the various works undertaken in their various constituencies through the mother ministry ,ministry for special Development initiatives (MSDI) Which includes institutional Toilets, Mechanised Boreholes three of them in every Constituency, warehouses (20 of them in the middle Belt Zone) six unit classrooms blocks, markets, clinics, ambulances (112 of them to be receive soon).

In furtherance to that they showcased Constituency wise all projects being undertaken currently to individual Chief executives. Copies of such projects were given to each Chief executive.

Projects to be undertaken in the 2019 -2020 for their various constituencies were discussed and MMDCES inputs soughed.

MMDCES strategic roles were also discussed towards the implementation process.

It will be recalled that in a month ago a similar work shop was undertaken in the middle Belt Zone (Eastern, Ashanti, Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regions) for our members of parliament MPs as part of the consultations being done on the One million Dollars projects Implementation process.

The middle Belt Development Authority was established by an act of parliament, Act 962 in 2017. (MBDA) core mandate is to implement the infrastructure for poverty Eradication projects IPEP and other special Development initiatives to ensure thriving communities.

President Akufo-Addo in the round up to the 2016 elections promised to send one million dollars to every constituency every year to accelerate development in various constituencies should Ghanaians give him the nod.

In fulfilment of this campaign promise the middle Belt Development Authority was set up together with the Coastal Development Authority and Northern Development Authority to implement the one million Dollars per Constituency money.

The middle Belt Development Authority has Eastern Region, Ashanti Region, Bono Region, Bono East Region and Ahafo Regions. One hundred and nine (109) Constituencies fall under the middle Belt Development Authority with its headquarters at Kumasi with Regional offices in Koforidua Kumasi and Sunyani.
