Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho has described as nuisance, the Akufo-Addo-led government which he has accused of ignoring the welfare of Ghanaians.

According to him, the 2018 mid-year review budget presented to parliament by the finance minister last week was unnecessary and seeks to exacerbate the hardship Ghanaians are facing.

“The whole budget is a nuisance and the government is also a nuisance government,” he said on 3FM’s Sunrise morning show Tuesday while commenting on the mid-year review budget.

In his view, Akufo-Addo’s policies have become nuisance, saying “the government is just disturbing us everyday with its nuisance policies. One of them is what I heard yesterday, that he [Nana Akufo-Addo] is going to do some semester for SHS.”

He said the government played a smart move by announcing no increase in Value Added Tax (VAT) in the budget in order to divert the attention of Ghanaians from economic conditions on the ground.

According to him, the New Patriotic Party has given Ghanaians more than they can chew by pinning down every crises of this country to the free senior high school education policy.

Mr. Anyidoho said the government has failed to expand infrastructure but decided to increase intake at the senior high school level.

The government, he further said, has no vision for the country, adding the number of financial institutions that have been collapsed in the last 18 months is disappointing, and claimed it’s a sign of financial crunch in the country.

He alleged the seat of government has kept the country’s money to itself, which he said, has caused great suffering to the people.

“There is no movement of money; cash flow is at zero and the money is at the Flagstaff House, 110 ministers with special assistants, and a government of friends, family and concubines” he said.

Mr. Anyidoho said Ghanaians who are not a part of the “family and friends” government, are always ignored.

He contended that the prevailing conditions in the country is not what Ghanaians expected when they voted for the Akufo-Addo government
