Akufo-Addo is a ‘dictator and a cheat’- Western Regional FA Chairman
The Western Regional Football Association Chairman, Kojo Yankah has described President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as a dictator which is evident in some of the decisions he takes in respect of football administration.
Mr Kojo Yankah who is not enthused about certain decisions taken by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led government in recent times, took on the first gentleman of the land for removing the GFA Executive Committee Members arbitrarily insisting that some of them were voted for.
“I was voted for and I haven’t done anything wrong. What the government is doing is very dictatorial. If the president claims his government is democratic and yet tries to cheat innocent people, then he’s setting a bad precedence. What the president is doing implies that we can also wake up one day and remove him from office without tangible reasons”, he revealed in an interview transcribed and posted by Sports Obama of Atinka Media.
Government as part of moves to sanitize the football administration in the country following undercover investigations by Investigative Journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas dissolved the Executive Committee of the GFA.
This move has angered a section of members who say the government is acting in violation of their fundamental human rights as elected members.
Mr Yankah has previously accused the NPP government of unscrupulously trying to remove known NDC members in the GFA hierarchy to be replaced by NPP loyalists.
