Akufo-Addo is a true freedom fighter – Asare

The life of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been one that is filled with fighting for freedom and justice for the people of Ghana, Professor Kwaku Asare, a United States-based Ghanaian professor, has said.

On the occasion of the 75th birthday of Mr Akufo-Addo, Friday, 29 March, Prof Asare, who is also a private legal practitioner, wrote on his Facebook page that: “Congratulations to His Excellency on the occasion of his diamond jubilee. It has surely and truly been an open book-life filled with fighting for freedom and justice.

“I fondly recall the hairy man in the green Peugeot at the then-Circle, calling for the restoration of freedom, even at the peril of his life.

“Sir, you continue to look and get better with age and I look forward to celebrating the repeal of the laws that hold our dual citizens in chains under your watch. Happy Birthday, Nana Addo Dankwa.”
