Akufo-Addo is not ill - Karbo

A Deputy Communications Director of the opposition New Patriotic Party(NPP), Anthony Abayefa Karbo has rubbished claims suggesting a recent caveat issued to Nana Addo’s campaign team restraining the three-time Flagbearer from staying out to campaign after 5pm on health grounds.

The Enquirer newspaper in its July 11 publication reportedly said that a caveat has been issued to Nana’s campaign team by his health handlers to ensure that the 73 year old presidential candidate does not stay out after 5 pm.

The paper allegedly attributed the information to an Intelligence picked up at the Nima residence of the NPP leader which advises the opposition leader not to stay out after 5 pm in the evening on health grounds.

But reacting to the report of the Enquirer newspaper, Karbo said on Kasapa FM Monday that the claims by the newspaper is part of the machinations, dirty propaganda and political spin on Nana Addo’s campaign in every election by the NDC party.

“Let me put it on record - there is nothing like that and Nana Addo is still on his tour in the Brong Ahafo region. This is a total lie and fabrication. His campaign is gaining the biggest momentum. I’ve the opportunity to join his campaign trail and we are on the grounds with him making the rounds in the nook and crannies of this country without any caveat as speculated. We move out from the hotel 10 am and return 10 pm. He is the first person to wake up by 7 am to check up on all of us.

“The so-called report by Enquirer newspaper is ridiculous, bogus, blatant lie and must not even make the news,” Karbo dismissed.
