A senior member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Mohammed Saani Snr has called President Nana Akufo-Addo the “defending champion’ of all corrupt leaders Ghana has ever had, MyNewsGh.com reports.

“It is not only Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe who has these misgivings about this government, because corruption is so deep-rooted in the government set up so much that, but the President is also the defending champion”, Alhaji Saani jabbed.

According to him, the sitting president is peerless when it comes to indulging in corruption and that his records in the last few years that he has been in power cannot be matched by those of all the leaders Ghana has ever had put together.

The former 2nd Vice Chairman of the NDC in the Ashanti region was sharing his views on the recent claim by founding member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe that, “corruption in the current administration is the worst in the country’s history”, in an interview with Kumasi-based Angel FM monitored by Mynewsgh.com.

“The level of corruption under Akufo Addo’s government is the worst ever in the history of Ghana and if he doesn’t take care, there’ll be a civil unrest under his leadership just like the revolution that happened in the North of Africa,” Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe said in an interview with Saddick Adams that has since gone viral.

Alhaji Saani corroborated Dr Tamakloe’s view by saying the President has through his actions and inactions, condoned and contributed corruption in his government and cannot be absolved from same should he be subjected to strict independent scrutiny.

“President Akufo Addo must be happy that there is somebody like Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe within his party to pint out the truth to him; one thing about the NPP is that when Nana Addo is wrong, nobody gets the courage to tell but continue to sing his praises”, he noted.
