Complete ‘rubbishing’ may be a perfect description of what Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho has done to comments of US Ambassador about a ‘more visionary President; Akufo-Addo’ in comparing the governance prowess of some recent Ghanaian leaders.

Robert P. Jackson in an interview on current affairs program; ’21 Minutes with KKB’ made submissions to the effect that President Akufo-Addo is more visionary and is in a better position to drive economic growth particularly with his policies and programs for the country.

Mr. Anyidoho however, speaking to Kwabena Kyenkyenhene Boateng on the subject flawed the US Ambassador’s arguments, labelling them as entirely pointless and meaningless. To him, vision is not enough to drive a country as several other individuals in various regards have through their vision, perpetrated many ‘senseless’ and rather unreasonable acts that have eventually led to their destruction.

“Even Nebuchadnezzar had a vision, before he became an animal and went into the bush, he had a vision. It was his vision that made him turn into an animal, armed robbers have vision, prostitutes have vision so if Akufo-Addo has a vision so what?”

He further questioned the President’s vision of a ‘Ghana beyond aid’ which he says is unattainable under Akufo-Addo considering certain recent and imminent decisions of government.

“Which vision?”, he quizzed when posed with the submission that the vision of a Ghana beyond aid may be the ideal growth mechanism for Ghana.

“A Ghana beyond which aid when the Finance Minister is about to float another bond and borrow? When he is issuing bonds in the middle of the night is that the visionary leadership? When the President Appoints 110 ministers, when he is engaged in cronyism, nepotism, surrounded himself with friends, cronies and concubines, is that visionary leadership? “, he continued.

For Mr. Anyidoho, the only thing he observed in Mr. Jackson’s line of thoughts is his ‘campaign’ for the acceptance of homosexuality in the country.

“He is seeing the trajectory of homosexuality that’s what he is seeing”, he said.
