The National Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams says he is not surprised that President Akufo Addo has chosen not to respond to former President John Mahama with regards to the management of the economy because the former will literally drown in such banter, if he attempts.
President Akufo-Addo over the weekend said he will not respond to any of the main opposition National Democratic Congress’ flag bearer aspirants until they are duly elected as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2020 polls.
“I’m sure you have seen and heard some of the presidential aspirants of the leading opposition party taking jabs at my government in order, ostensibly, to prop up their campaign.”
“And whilst at it, they are desperately trying to get me to respond to them. Let me state here and now, for the records that President Akufo-Addo will not respond to presidential aspirants, President Akufo-Addo said during the 25th-anniversary celebration of the University of Development Studies, Tamale in the Northern Region.
In a reaction to the President’s comments on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM, Mr. Adams told sit-in host Akwasi Nsiah, the economic hardship brought unto Ghanaians by the coming in of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by President Akufo Addo, makes it difficult for him to have a contrary opinion and even dispute the assertions of his predecessor.
“I’m actually not surprised President Akufo Addo doesn’t want to respond to what John Mahama is saying. We all know the hardship he has brought on Ghanaians, people said the economy was hard under John Mahama but we can all see the difference now”. What will he say when all fingers are pointing at him. He himself has admitted that the country is hard and that is what we’ve all been saying”
