The flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Ado Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has assured Ghanaians of the judicious use of state resources to better their lot if voted as President in the December elections.
He said this when he addressed NPP supporters in Winneba on Thursday as part of his “Restoration of hope to the people" tour in the Central Region.
He said, education would be his priority and added that he still stands by his promise to make senior high school education free.
Nana Akufo-Addo said if the mandate is given him by the electorate, he would continue the good work of Former President John Agyekum Kufuor to remove Ghanaians from hardship and poverty.
According to him, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had brought hardship to the people as a result of mismanagement.
Nana Akufo-Addo urged the people of Effutu who have attained 18 years and above to register when the new biometric registration exercise starts on March 24 to enable them to vote for the NPP.
He promised to re-institute the Fisheries Ministry to address problems facing fishermen if elected President.
Nana Akufo-Addo later introduced the NPP Parliamentary candidate for the Area, Mr Alexander A. Markin, to the people and asked them to vote for him and the candidate during the election.
Mr Markin appealed to the people to take the forth coming registration exercise serious, promised to establish a scholarship scheme for students in the area and promised to establish a cold store at the beach for fish storage in Winneba.**
