Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was among the large number of people who undertook the biometric voters’ registration exercise at the Rock of Ages Academy Polling Station at Kyebi on Thursday.

He was accompanied by his wife Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo and two of his daughters, Adriana Dokua Akufo-Addo and Gyankroma Akufo-Addo who also registered at the same polling station.

The NPP flagbearer availed himself to the registration officials, who took him through the process after which he was issued with his identification card.

Nana Akufo-Addo has been voting at the local Authority Primary School Polling Station until a new polling station was created by the Electoral Commission at the Rock of Ages Academy, which is a few distance from his residence.

Addressing journalists, Nana Akufo-Addo expressed appreciation and confidence in the exercise, and said it was something he had been expecting since 1992.

He gave the assurance that, he would contribute towards the success of the exercise.

Nana Akufo-Addo expressed concern about reports of violence across the country in the ongoing registration exercise and said it was unfortunate that the exercise should degenerate into chaos and violence.

He appealed to the police administration to live up to expectation and ensure that people who attack others are brought to book irrespective of their political affiliations else the violence would not stop.

“People would start defending themselves when the police fail to defend them when they are attacked,” Nana Akufo-Addo said.

He condemned the attack on Ms Ursula Owusu, parliamentary aspirant for Ablekuma South and Mr Abu Jinapor, NPP party activist, who were alleged to have been attacked by some people on Wednesday in Accra.

Nana Akufo-Addo called on the police to investigate the incident and bring the perpetrators to book to deter others from engaging in such acts.

He asked NPP supporters to turn up in their numbers to register to be able to exercise their franchise in December.**
