A Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister in the erstwhile Mahama administration, Joseph Yammin has alleged that President Akufo Addo’s desk is filled with corruption documents awaiting clearance.
According to Yammin, the list of corrupt cases involving appointees of the Akufo-Addo government is growing by the day and may not end anytime soon.
The former Minister made this revelation in a panel discussion on PureMorningDrive hosted by Kwame Adinkrah.
Joseph Yammin’s outburst comes on the back of the recent Prefos/NYA contract to train some young people selected from some 254 district assemblies across the country to install streetlights and also repair.
“President Akufo-Addo’s posture towards allegations of corruption levelled against his appointees and officials in his government is worrying to say the least, and in any civilized jurisdiction, appointees fingered in these scandals will not only be sacked but prosecuted.”
“Since the president’s office has become a clearing house, trust him to do justice to these documents. It will be cleared in ‘no time'” He said smiling.
However, the Vice President has stated that government is currently rolling out a National ID, reducing the opportunities for corruption in the public sector with plans to go completely cashless in the public sector by the middle of next year .
