Member of Parliament for Tamale North Alhassan Suhuyini has suggested President Nana Akufo-Addo will only seek to impress the people of Ghana with impressive speech when he delivers the State of the Nation Address Thursday.
While many are looking forward to an address which will inspire confidence in all aspects of the economy, especially security, which has become a topical matter of concern, the MP said he does not expect “anything” from the President.
“I’m tired of listening to our president; he talks a lot, makes impressive statement but does so little”, Mr. Suhuyini said Wednesday on TV3 New Day.
With specific reference to issues of political militia and how the MP hopes it is addressed in the SONA, Mr. Suhuyini insisted Nana Akufo-Addo has not shown enough commitment.
“I have lost confidence in him,” he reiterated.
Though he believes the President has all the power to deal with acts of political militia in the country, he said the President ought to begin with his own party.
But the Member of Parliament for Sekondi, Andrew Kofi Egyapa Mercer, who was also a discussant on the show observed the President does not need the expectation of Mr. Suhuyini to make an inspiring address.
The Sekondi MP was hopeful that the President will roll out a comprehensive plan on how to deal with all the issues bothering on security, including political militia.
