Batsona (Greater Accra), 18 Nov. Mr.. Joshua Alabi, Greater Accra Regional Minister, on Monday cut the sod for the construction of a 50 Billion-Cedis International Trade Fair Centre at Batsona in the Tema Municipality. The centre, which will be developed by the Tema Municipal Assembly (TMA) in partnership with the private sector on a 20-Acre land, will have facilities for trade fairs and exhibitions, shopping malls, motor village, warehouses and open theatres. The TMA will provide fenced wall walkways, water, electricity, telephones, landscaping and pavilions, while the private sector will develop the main structures. In an address, me. Alabi noted that the centre will serve as a pedestal for the re-launching of Tema and Ghana as a whole on the World Investment Market to attract both foreign and local entrepreneurs. Other objectives include outlining the vision of the TMA for the municipality in the contexts of Ghana's vision 2020 and building a positive corporate image for the TMA as a capable and trusted partner for investment and development. It will also create a market for local and foreign exhibitors the promotion of business and creation of wealth and employment.
