After being snubbed by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the funeral of the late Oman FM broadcaster, Kwabena Kwakye alias Wofa KK, the member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong took the initiative to offer the president and his entourage handshakes to officially welcome them to the funeral of his late staff.

President Akufo-Addo after he arrived at the funeral which was held at the forecourt of the State House on Saturday, April 27, 2024, exchanged pleasantries with most mourners, but for some unexplained reasons, he left out those seated under a particular canopy which had among others, Kennedy Agyapong, Alan Kyerematen and Boakye Agyarko.

Having realized that the president was not going to come to their tent, Kennedy Agyapong stood up, and walked to the canopy that had the president and other leading NPP and government officials, to offer handshakes and exchange some words with some of them.

Unlike Kennedy Agyapong, Alan Kyerematen, the leader of the Movement for Change and Boakye Agyarko, a former minister of energy stayed glued to their seat and watched the actions under the president’s canopy.

The deceased, a prominent broadcaster at Oman 107.1FM, part of Kencity Media in Accra, passed away in mid-February 2024.

The funeral had other top government officials and high-ranking New Patriotic Party (NPP) members in attendance.
