Kingsley Adumattah Agyapong, commonly known as Wofa K, Chairman of the UK branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has denied allegations made by Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen that he was mistreated by the party.

The NPP’s chair posited that such a narration is inaccurate.

He blamed the former trade and industry minister for his own woes.

He stated that Alan’s allegations are not an accurate reflection of what happened. Wofa K opined that Alan failed to engage in proper grassroots campaigning by connecting with the party people.

He said while some of the candidates developed, invested in, and supported some party people through training and personal coaching, Alan failed to do so. For this reason, he had no strong base in the various constituencies during the elections compared to others.

“Personally, I don’t buy the argument that Alan was mistreated. He was a founding member, and we greatly respect him.

"He (Alan) still believes in the NPP’s ideologies. He still believes that the NPP’s ideology of development in freedom is the best way to transform Ghana, so I advise him to return home and support his roots.

"The party stated unequivocally that every candidate should run in the elections, and I personally pledged to support whoever emerged victorious. Alan also contested, and the outcome was clear to all of us.

"We saw who won, and I personally believe Alan did not play his political journey and plan very well. We vote by constituency, so if every candidate is pointing to a constituency for victory, you should point to one that you have nurtured and elevated so that you can rely on them.

"But that is something I believe Alan failed to do. So I will disagree with him if he claims he was treated unfairly.”

Speaking on the ‘As it is in Ghana’ show on Rainbow Radio 92.4FM, UK, he said, “There is nobody in the NPP who can beat Alan Kyerematen in terms of benefits because he benefitted more than anyone in the NPP.

He was appointed as minister during former President Kufour’s era and also under Nana Addo’s government. So he has benefitted more from the party than any other person.”
