Government has appointed Albert Antwi-Boasiako as Cyber Security Adviser, the Ministry of Communications has announced.

His appointment comes as part of measures being put in place by the government to help build a comprehensive cyber security management architecture for Ghana.

A statement released by the Ministry confirming Mr Antwi-Boasiako's appointment said his role would be able to coordinate all cyber security services, as well as advise government on the best ways and practices of dealing with cyber security incidents.

Portions of the statement from the Communications Ministry reads:

"The technology environment of today requires the urgent implementation of important cyber security activities and programs to address Ghana’s cyber security challenges and Mr Antwi-Boasiko is expected to assist the ministry to implement the policy in this regard." Mr Antwi Boasiako has vast experience in this area, having worked as cyber security expert in the Interpol Global Cyber crime Expert Group (IGCEC).
