The national secretary of the New Patriotic Party [NPP] Mr.Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie “a.k.a Sir John” has taken out the tension that the “all die be die” statement might be causing as far as going to the polls this December is concern.

Mr. Kwadwo Owusus Afriyie, has explained that the “all die be die” statement that the party’s 2012 presidential candidate made was not to mean NPP members were going to disrupt the upcoming elections with violence here and there by snatching ballot boxes, beating voters to prevent them from casting their votes or wield cutlasses and storm the streets to keep voters away as the NDC has been claiming.

Rather, the “all die be die”, means doing everything possible in it means as a party to prevent any acts that will cause rigging of the election such as snatching of ballot boxes, double voting, stopping persons who will storm the streets with dangerous tools to scare voters away from voting, he further explained.

The NPP national secretary gave the explanation when addressing members of the Ghanaian community in a town hall meeting which was held at Ghanaian Presbyterian Church in Toronto-Canada, on July 21, 2012.

Before his explanation, some members in the community have been expressing fear that that the there will be violence in the upcoming elections and that the NPP is going to cause that violence.

Therefore it was timely that during question and answer segment of the programme, the national secretary was asked to explain the “all die be die” especially where it was being claimed that the violence that were recorded during the voter registration was due to that statement.

The party scribe, stated that what happens in Ghana directly affects its citizens resident in foreign destinations therefore there is the need for Ghanaians living in the diaspora to show concern of what is currently happening in the country where there is corruption, high cost of living, standard of education falling, energy crisis grounding the country, roads becoming accident traps, joblessness and many more.

To show concern he charged members of the Ghanaian community in the diaspora to support a worthy cause by assisting the party in all ways and means to take out power from the incumbent party the NDC for the NPP to take the country to the promise land.

He appealed to the diasporan community to support the party headquarters to obtain 400 vehicles, one each for the 230 constituencies and two vehicles for the ten regions to send the men and women to the grassroots to spread the party’s message of hope to get the votes to win the election.

End.
