Deputy Agric Minister, Hon. George Oduro has said that all is set for this year’s farmer’s day celebrations.
He says the activities marking this year’s celebration is a week-long programme and it would be climaxed on Friday to honour farmers across the country.
Speaking on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia programme, he catalogued some few changes to this year’s celebrations.
"Unlike previously, the year’s ultimate national best farmer would not be presented with a house as it has been over the years. The government will liaise with the best farmer to have his money (cash prize) invested in his or her farm.
"The NPP government has since assuming power invested heavily in Agric to provide food for Ghanaians with its flagship programme Planting for Food and Jobs (PFJ).
"I will like to on behalf of government extend our appreciation to farmers for their contribution to national development. Ayekoo!!!," he said.
