Francis Obiri, 18, a form two student of the Nkonya-Wurupong Junior High School (JHS), said to be the ‘reconnaissance’ link of a youthful robbery duo has been tracked and picked up by the Police.
Ahmed Ibrahim, 20, resident of Ashaiman and Munuri Ibrahim, 19, Nkonya-Ahenkro, the duo, were themselves arrested on June 22 this year, around 0600 hours by the Volta Regional Police Anti-Armed Robbery Squad while riding motorbikes on the Peki-Asikuma Highway.
Mr. Peterkin Yentumi Gyinae, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in charge of the Volta Region, briefing Journalists on Friday in Ho said items found on them included a locally made pistol, a live cartridge compressed with black rounded substances, a cutter and screwdrivers.

He said when Ahmed and Muniri dropped hints that Obiri, the JHS student was responsible for identifying and passing on locations of robbery targets, the Police moved to the school where Obiri’s father, a teacher at the same school personally arrested and handed him over.
