Some relatives of those who were killed when Allied Air plane, Boeing 727-200, Flight DHV 111crashed them to death on Saturday, June 9, 2012 are seething with anger at the way management of the airline is treating them.

In an interview with the Daily Post over the weekend, they accused the management of treating them with contempt.

“Our loved ones who got killed by their plane did not pay to fly in it. They were going about their normal everyday activities when their plane suddenly snuffed life out of them. Now, the management of this airline is treating us with contempt. Is it because our loved ones whom they killed are not politicians, business tycoons or famous people?,” one angry parent asked. What is irking the family of the victims is the $2,000 for each victim’s family Allied Air has o deposited with the Ministry of Transport for them to collect. According to the families, this action smacks of contempt for the bereaved families and disrespect for the dead. One angry father told theDaily Post that the proper thing management of the airline should have done is meeting with them to discuss how best those who lost their lives would be buried.

“It is not just about money. It is important to show sympathy to the bereaved families and respect for the dead by at least sitting down with the families to discuss how the dead are going to be buried, the contributions the airline will make towards this and other forms of support. To just come and dump money at the Ministry of Transport and ask us to go and collect it is an insult, even if the money we are going to be given is GH ¢5 billion each,” the aggrieved parent said.

When the Daily Post pointed out that the bereaved families will be compensated by the Airline’s insurance company, another aggrieved parent, a mother, said human life cannot be quantified and thus it was important for the management of the airline to do the right thing—that is commiserate with the family properly and help bury the dead.

They hinted this paper of their intention to deal ruthlessly with the Airline if it continuous to belittle their pain and show contempt for the families and the dead.
