On behalf of myself, family and team G.K, I wish to congratulate all of us workers, both formal and informal for our contribution to the growth of mother Ghana. I say Ayekooo!!!. May the good Lord bless us all. The labor year which we celebrate today has really not been friendly. Many times have we witnessed labor unrest being caused by genuine problems which could have been prevented by central government. From issues of tariff increase, fuel increase, pension and working policy among many others. Indeed this past year has not been very friendly. All the same we did put in our best to sustain our mother land.

It is time our labor market focuses on adding value to what we do. Let us try as much as we can to improve on our manufacturing industry in our country, despite the fact that there are many challenges we face which of cause hinders our progress.

The various labor unions should bring up policies that will see the ordinary Ghanaian as part of core management and not always as an ordinary labourer whose take home can not indeed take him/her home.

On the other hand, our ministry incharge of education should include in our syllabus courses that will make our students practically ready for the job market so that they are able to take up jobs immediately after school.

The celebration of this year's labor day is important since we find ourselves in an election year. I will use this opportunity to urge labor unions to help us politicians preach peace and work towards peace. It is only when we have peace that we can work in harmony and be productive. It is only when we have peace we can have the mind to work for the betterment of livelihood.

God bless our homeland Ghana

Thank You.

Signed:

George Kumi
