Accra, Sept. 6 -- According to the newspaper, Lens, a son of Ghana's Ambassador to Serbia is the latest to add to the "Cocaine Woes" of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

As the government is struggling to deal with the widespread public perception that the ruling party is a Narcotic Peddlers Party(NPP), news has emerged that Ellis Nyaho Tamakloe, the son of Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, former chairman of the Ghana Football Association and one of the NPP’s leading lights was last Saturday arrested after he had collected a DHL parcel, which was later shown to contain an undisclosed amount of cocaine.

Enquiries by the Lens at the Ministries’ Police Station have confirmed that Ellis has been in police custody since Saturday. The police however declined to give further details to the Lens and asked the paper to contact the Narcotic Control Board for all the necessary details.

JOY News can confirm that the son of NPP firebrand and Ambassador to Serbia Montenegro Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe is in police custody for possessing narcotics.
25 year old Ellis Nyaho Tamakloe was arraigned before court today with Roger Oklu, a worker of the courier company DHL.
Both men were remanded in custody to reappear on the 20th of September. The Narcotics Control Board which is leading the prosecution is looking for a third suspect identified as Harry Campbell.
Highly placed sources at the Narcotics Control Board say the ambassador’s son was arrested last Thursday after the DHL employee Roger Oklu named him as the owner of a parcel believed to contain Indian hemp. Roger was arrested by his superiors as he tried to mail the parcel.
Upon his arrest Ellis told the investigators that his friend Harry Campell gave him the envelope to hand over to Roger.
Sources at the Narcotics Control board say while the two remain in custody for questioning, a search is underway for Harry Campbell.
