In a show of solidarity, supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) swarmed the Law Court Complex on Thursday, June 27, amid the high-profile ambulance purchase trial. Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson and co-accused Richard Jakpa are at the center of the legal storm.

The throng of protesters, adorned with red cloth strips as a symbol of unity, assembled after the fourth session of the trial, voicing their support for Dr. Forson through the power of local Ghanaian anthems.

In an unprecedented move, traditional leaders from the Central Region made their presence felt at the courthouse, standing with Dr. Forson. They were joined by NDC Members of Parliament and the Central Regional Chairman, all united in their backing of the Minority Leader.

Post-trial, Sammy Gyamfi, the NDC's National Communications Officer, addressed the press with fervor, casting aspersions on the Attorney General's knowledge of the case. He contended that the trial has not tarnished the reputations of Richard Jakpa or Dr. Forson, but rather exposed the Attorney General, Godfred Dame, as the one lacking honour.

Gyamfi further alleged that cross-examination evidence from Mr. Jakpa revealed it was Attorney General Dame who initially proposed a meeting with Jakpa. This twist, according to Gyamfi, casts a long shadow over the prosecution's case integrity.
