The Vice Presidential nominee, Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur is expected to face the Vetting Committee of Parliament on Monday August 6.
The former Governor of the Bank of Ghana was nominated on Tuesday by President Mahama after days of speculations and several names being bandied around as possible Vice Presidential candidates.
Mr. Amissah–Arthur was expected to face Parliament for scrutiny today but the Speaker of Parliament, Justice Joyce Bamford Addo referred the letter nominating Mr. Amissah-Arthur as Vice Presidential candidate from the presidency to the Committee after she read it to the hearing of the house.
According to sources, Mr. Amissah-Arthur’s vetting process would be public despite calls for it to be held in camera to avoid any form of public ridicule.**
