Amoateng Lawyer?s Wife Goes Wild

The wife of the so-called legal luminary in the United Kingdom, Nana Kwaku Darko has spewed venom on Gabby Asare Otchere Darko, Editor of the Statesman and Madam Busia, member of the Council of State, Dr. of Kofi Abrefa Busia, accusing them of being blatant liars.

Lawyer Busia?s wife, Ms. Ruth Ollenu, a grand-daughter of the late Chief Justice Nii Amaa Ollenu, insisted her husband is a practising legal practitioner, as well as a practising medical doctor, of sound mind, rendering invaluable services to his clients. She further accused Gabby of travelling to the UK to conduct shoddy investigations into the operations of her husband, only to return to tell the world that Nana Busia had no legal firm in UK, as his name was not registered with the UK Bar.

Speaking on HelloFM, a sister station of PeaceFM during its morning show programme, moderated by Kwame Sefa Kayi, yesterday and relayed on PeaceFM in Accra, as well as on its affiliate stations nationwide, Ms. Ollenu noted, the Statesman?s editor went the wrong way, in conducting his investigations, and went looking for a wrong name in the archives of the UK Bar.

Although she claimed her husband?s legal firm is registered with the UK Bar, she declined to disclose its name, and place of location. She could also not tell whether or not the so-called lawyer husband, whose age she gave as 55 used a different name in registering his legal firm.

According to Ms. Ollenu, her husband is a versatile person, having educated himself to become a professional legal practitioner and a medical doctor, operating a surgical consultancy at an undisclosed hospital in U.K. She disclosed Nana Kwaku Busia, currently consults in the U.K and Holland. She observed that it was wrong for Gabby to visit the Cambridge University in London, as part of his efforts to contact her husband, to cross-check facts with him, in lieu of his frantic efforts to contact him personally.

Mr. Ollenu withheld the exact hospital in which her husband worked as well as his chambers in the UK, citing the rumours doing the rounds, regarding the doubts about the genuineness of her husband?s qualifications as a lawyer. She assured that measures were being set in place to ensure the organization of a news conference in London, during which journalists would be invited to hear from Eric Amoateng?s former purported lawyer.
