Amoma (B/A) Dec. 19, GNA - The family of Mr. Eric Amoateng, Member of Parliament for Nkoranza North has called on the media to desist from feeding the general public with negative publicity and prejudiced criticism against the MP on his alleged involvement in heroin trafficking.

They said no verdict of guilt had yet been pronounced against the MP as being speculated by a section of the media.

Mr. Johnson Badu-Antwi and Mr. Joseph Manu, spokesmen, appealed to media practitioners to be cautious not to politicise the issue. The spokespersons, brothers of the beleaguered MP, called on journalists to be cautions of what they wrote or aired about the issue until the judgment by the court.

"The two brothers vouched for the clean conduct of their brother and expressed doubts that their sibling could be involved in any nefarious activities or had a dubious character", adding that their brother might be proved innocent.

They assured the people and entire citizens of Nkoranza that their brother, the MP would be exonerated but appealed to the NPP government to closely monitor the proceedings of the matter.
