Anas: I’m willing to collaborate with Martin Amidu

Anas Aremeyaw Anas, the investigative journalist whose work has exposed massive corruption in Ghana’s judiciary has said he is willing to collaborate with anti-corruption campaigner Martin Amidu in his subsequent investigative pieces.

Amidu, a former attorney general and a respected anti-graft campaigner has been at the throat of Anas accusing him of resorting to unethical means to extort money from the state. He insists Anas was engaged by the government to embark on the expose’ of the judiciary in an effort to embarrass the judicial fraternity.

The former Interior Minister has also challenged the propriety of Anas’ work and also the legitimacy of his company Tiger Eye PI. He argues that the company is not registered to carry out investigate work as it has been doing over the years.

Reacting to the claims on Joy FM Tuesday, Anas said although the claims by Amidu are baseless, he is nonetheless, willing to work with him.

“I am ready to work with him; maybe we can do something together on the legislature. I don’t mind working with him at all,” he noted.

The Crusading Guide journalist also urged Mr Amidu not to pick and choose his investigative works for him.

“Uncle Martin won’t pick and choose what I should do, he does his own anti-corruption work in his own style which I may not be able to do even if you give me 50 years.

“He should let me be, I beg him. My parents took me to school and I have become an investigative journalist. If Uncle Martin thinks this is so bad, he can go to court. Whatever his issues are, let him go to court, we will meet him squarely,” he stated.
