Anas’ exposé: Follow due process and impeach Akufo-Addo - NPP man to NDC

The member of the ruling New Patriotic Party's (NPP's) communication team in the Western Region, Dennis Moses Awuah has dared the opposition NDC to take the due process and impeach President Akufo-Addo if involved taking bribe in Anas Aremeyaw Anas' latest exposé, 'Number 12'.

The Investigative piece, titled Number 12 was put together by controversial journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his Tiger Eye PI team.

The video captures several Ghanaian FA officials including the FA President and referees engaging in corrupt activities.

President Nana Akufo-Addo ordered for Mr Nyantakyi's arrest by the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service after having been privy to the documentary.

Mr. Nyantakyi was captured taking bribe and using the name of the president to peddle influence. Several referees and match administrators were also captured taking bribe to fix matches.

But some members of the opposition NDC are saying that President Akufo-Addo allegedly took money from Lawyer Kwesi Nyantakyi and for that matter President Akufo-Addo's commitment to fight against corruption is now in serious doubt.

Speaking to the media, the former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Deputy General Secretary and former MP for Akwatia, Baba Jamal said ''the president’s so-called incorruptible nature has been damaged beyond repairs by Anas’ exposé and that his commitment to the fight against corruption is now in serious doubt.''

Baba Jamal further said Anas’ latest exposé and the numerous scandals that have rocked the country within just 15 months, show that the NPP government is terribly corrupt.

Speaking on New Day FM political morning show dubbed 'Morning Dew' on Thursday, June 7, the outspoken NPP Communicator, Moses Awuah dared the opposition NDC to as matter of urgency seek legal action and impeach President Akufo-Addo if they think the president took any amount from Lawyer Kwesi Nyantakyi.

Moses Awuah vehemently believe that President Akufo-Addo is incorruptible and added that there was nowhere in the Anas' video that President Akufo-Addo was given money by Lawyer Kwesi Nyantakyi.

"My point is that Nana Addo the President of Ghana is an incorruptible President. Prior to the airing of the video our friends in NDC were making noise that the President was captured in the video taking bribe and we all watched the video and there was no where in the video indicting the president. So if NDC members still insist the President was in the video taking bribe then they should follow due process and impeach him and stop ranting on social media and radio stations", he chided.

He added that with all the NDC blabbing, the NPP communicator said he finds it very difficult in the video where indicating that President Akufo-Addo was seen taking money from Kwesi Nyantakyi.

"With all this blabbing, I have been trying very hard to get a dint of hardcore evidence to back your wild imaginations but apparently I can't find any. The video as it stands now is the evidence available to all us; please oo, which part of the exposé incriminates the president? Point it out to us. Plus, I think as a citizen you can equally pursue some of these agenda and therefore if you possess any incriminating evidence aside someone's blabbing, assist in the investigations Wai. Ya br3' mu do do", he emphasized.



"Your conjecturing isn't an enough evidence and perusing is a complete waste of time", he added.

In the video, Mr. Nyantakyi had a grand plan of ruling Ghana with money. Mr Nyantakyi in a meeting with undercover agents who posed as investors, disclosed how from small beginnings, he and his investor friends could ‘take over’ Ghana with their money.

“You can start with something small in your own discretion, then when you get the contract; the big big contract, we can go back and give them more money, then we will take over the whole country,” Mr. Nyantakyi told the ‘investors’ in the video released by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

Prior to the upcoming screening, a four-minute clip from the one-hour, thirty minutes documentary was shown to the President, Nana Akufo-Addo by Anas.

Subsequently, the Presidency revealed at a press conference that the clip shows GFA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, using the offices of the President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo and his Vice, Mahamudu Bawumia, to extort money from people.

The President urged the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service to invite Mr. Nyantakyi for questioning.

Mr. Nyantakyi subsequently handed himself to police to assist with investigations after a charge of defrauding by false pretense was leveled against him.

There has been a longstanding perception that Mr. Nyantakyi’s stay in office, which has spanned at least 13 years, is the cause of setbacks with Ghana’s football.
