Anfoega elects Paramount Chief

Ho, March 6, GNA - Mr Charles Kwaku Hayibor, 50, legal practitioner was last Saturday elected the new Paramount Chief of Anfoega Traditional Area as successor to his late father, Togbe Tepre Hodo III, who died seven years ago in 1998.

The new Paramount Chief will be in confinement until March 12, this year when he would be inaugurated.

" Things will now be better. We've found our bearing and must put our wheel to the bearing to achieve our aims and aspirations", Togbe Adom Komato III, Gyasehene of the Anfoega Traditional Area said. Togbe Ganahene Akompi, acting president of the Anfoega Traditional Area also observed that, "Anfoega is whole once again and is poised to resume its rightful place among other traditional areas as in the past and even beyond".

"In accordance with the consultative agreement of the kingmakers, the new Paramount Chief would not be destooled as used to be the case whenever a chief misbehaves", Togbe Ganahene Akombi, said.

By this agreement he said, the new Paramount Chief was assured of a life-long tenure over the 11 communities making up the traditional area with a population of over 50,000.

Mr Hayibor, born on April 6, 1955 to the late Togbe Tepre Hodo III, and Madam Christine Afenyo, had his elementary education at the Anfoega Roman Catholic Primary and Middle School and proceeded to the Bishop Herman College, Kpando for his secondary education and later to the faculty law at the University of Ghana, Legon and the Ghana Law School in 1977.

Mr Hayibor is a member of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) and a member of the International Bar Association, Section of Business Law.
