Anglican Church donate X-ray machine to Saltpond Hospital

Saltpond (C/R), Feb. 16, GNA - The Saint Peter and Paul Anglican Church at Saltpond has presented X-ray equipment with accessories to the Saltpond Municipal Hospital.

The items were donated through the Church to the Hospital by St. Mungo Scottish Episcopal Church of Westlinton Edinburgh, in Scotland. The Very Reverend Emmanuel Entsi Williams, Priest in-charge and Archdeacon of Saltpond who made the presentation explained that the parishes under Cape Coast Diocese of the Anglican Church were linked to parishes in Scotland and Britain.

He said Mr Ian Kerry, who is the linkman for the SS Peter and Paul Church in Saltpond and the St. Mungo Scottish Episcopal Church paid them a visit in Saltpond, and found that the Hospital lacked some essential equipment, including the X-ray viewing boxes.

Mr. Kerry therefore, promised to donate one on behalf of the Church to the Hospital and had really fulfilled the promise. Ms. Margaret Minnah, Deputy Director of the Nursing Services and Matron of the Hospital thanked the Church for the gesture and assured them that it would improve health delivery in the area.

Mr Hayford Frempong, Hospital Administrator appealed to the Church in Scotland to assist the Hospital to establish a Dental Unit to cater for numerous patients who had been reporting at the facility for that service.
