Anthony Jordan officially presented with the 'Golden Key' to Bank

HFC Bank (Ghana) Limited, a subsidiary of Republic Financial Holdings Limited has officially presented the Golden Key of the Bank to its new Acting Managing Director, Mr. Anthony Jordan in a brief symbolic ceremony held at the Bank’s Head Office last Thursday.

Mr. Anthony Jordan was appointed Acting Managing Director effective 22nd of August following the appointment of Mr. Robert Le Hunte as Minister of Public Utilities in his home country, Trinidad and Tobago.

Handing over the symbolic Golden key to the New Acting Managing Director, the Board Chairman of the Bank, Mr. Charles W. Zwennes charged Mr. Jordan to rise to the challenge and make HFC Bank an industry leader. “You have greater responsibility to rise above the challenges facing the industry and be an Industry Leader.

You have a greater responsibility to ensure the Bank remains strong and healthy. Our Shareholders look forward to value on their investment, our Customers look forward to satisfaction, the Communities look forward to impact and the Staff look forward to job fulfillment. You therefore have a greater responsibility to move this Bank to higher grounds” Mr. Zwennes noted.

In his acceptance remarks, Mr. Anthony Jordan acknowledged the contributions of his predecessors; Mrs. Stephanie Baeta-Ansah; Mr. Asare Akuffo and Mr. Robert Le Hunt. He reassured all present that he was poised to continue where they left off.

Mr. Anthony Jordan believes that the current state of the Bank presented it with a unique opportunity to grow in leaps and bounds “We have posted the best half-year performance in the Bank’s history, we have the best Non-Performing Loan Cover in the market, we have a parent company that is worth more than 10 billion dollars and rated BBB+ by Standard and Poor’s.

We have a depth of 180 years experience by our parent company to leverage on. Most importantly, we have our competent Staff, highly skilled Executives and an experienced Board of Directors. Indeed, we cannot afford to retrogress. We must be hungry to achieve more. Our legacy as Staff of this noble institution is not just about what we have achieved in the past. It is about how well we can leverage on our past and on the opportunities surrounding us to grow in leaps and bounds” he added.

Mr. Jordan promised to lead the Bank through its strategic Vision of becoming the third largest Bank in the next three year, lead the Bank through a successful rebranding process and also, assured Customers of the Bank of innovative products and improved services.

Mr. Anthony Jordan has been with HFC Bank Ghana over the last Two years having worked with the Republic Financial Holdings Limited for Thirty-three years. Mr. Jordan holds an Executive Masters of Business Administration, and a Bsc Management studies from the University of the West Indies. He is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, London (ACIB).
