As the December 7, 2024, election day approaches, former Special Prosecutor Martin A. B. K. Amidu has issued a warning about the tactics of certain anti-corruption entrepreneurs and lobbyists.

Martin Amidu claims these individuals, hoping for appointments from the winner of the upcoming presidential elections, will stop at nothing to deceive the electorate with baseless arguments and concoctions against their perceived opponents.

In a statement dated May 23, 2024, Amidu emphasized the need for genuine anti-corruption crusaders to rise to the occasion and defend the 1992 Constitution by ensuring the electorate is well-informed.

“This is the time for genuine anti-corruption crusaders to defend the 1992 Constitution by insisting that the electorate must be apprised of the truth to make an informed decision between the two evils they will face at the 2024 Presidential elections,” Amidu stated.

Amidu’s remarks highlight the potential for misinformation and deceit in the lead-up to the elections, urging voters to seek the truth amidst a flurry of political rhetoric.

He called on true defenders of the anti-corruption cause to stand firm and guide the electorate toward making informed decisions.
