Dennis Miracles Aboagye, Special Aide to former Vice President Bawumia
Dennis Miracles Aboagye, spokesperson for NPP flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has questioned the effectiveness of the government’s anti-flood task force, claiming the body has virtually disappeared from public view after its initial launch.
Speaking on Joy News, Aboagye recalled the task force’s publicised inspections, aerial surveys and promises to tackle flooding in Accra and other vulnerable areas.
According to him, the team generated significant publicity when it was first introduced but has since failed to account for its activities or findings.
“After the reconnaissance, after the checks and everything, this anti-flood task force has gone silent,” he said.
Aboagye argued that citizens deserved feedback on what the team discovered and what measures were recommended to address the annual flooding crisis.
“When you finish and go on the report, the respect you give to the citizens is to come and tell them what you found out, what your short-term, medium-term and long-term solutions are,” he stated.
He maintained that the absence of public updates raises questions about whether the task force followed through on its mandate
