Accra, Dec. 17, GNA - The Police on Tuesday said it had so far received four autopsy reports on persons who died of burns in the Anyaa warehouse explosion a month ago, which killed seven persons and injured several others.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Elizabeth Allandu said they had also received three medical reports on victims, who were on admission. ACP Allandu, the prosecutor, told an Accra circuit court presided over by Mr C.A. Wilson that the police had prepared a duplicate copy of the case and would be attaching the two reports to the case before forwarding them to the Attorney General's Department for advice. She therefore prayed the court for an adjournment. The court obliged and adjourned the matter to January 28, next year. Janet Akani Sarbah, the trader, whose warehouse exploded, was in court on Wednesday without her lawyer.

Janet, who is charged with possessing firecrackers without lawful authority, is on GH¢100,000 bail. Her plea is yet to be taken by the court.

At about 1830 hours on November 17, Janet was said to have asked her workers to cart some goods from the warehouse to a customer in Kumasi. Prosecution said the lights in the area had gone off and the workers lit a candle to work with, which caught fire, leading to the explosion. 17 Dec. 08
